SNOW MESSAGING - WINTER 2011/12
|

Whistler
Real Estate Co Ltd, #137- 4370 Lorimer Road, Whistler, BC V0N 1B4
While many resorts in North America are struggling with
well-below average snow coverage, Whistler has received 17 feet of snowfall
in the first two months of the winter season and boasts 8,171 skiable acres
of terrain – more than any other destination in the United States and Canada.
In fact, compared to major resorts in Colorado, Utah and California, Whistler
has more than twice the amount of snow. Since Christmas Eve, more snow has
fallen in Whistler (six feet) than major Californian resorts have received
season to date.
Tourism Whistler is requesting your support to help drive
awareness of the current snow conditions in Whistler this winter with
potential customers. The following tools have been provided to help you
quickly and easily promote the resorts snow message to the world; by
leveraging your family & friends, business and personal networks and any
other marketing channels you have access to.

amounts to date for Whistler compared to major resorts in Colorado, Utah
and California. Recently, there has been significant media coverage in the
United States (our number #1 international market) regarding poor snow
conditions at major US ski resorts. This graph provides a simple, impactful
means of showcasing Whistler’s snow advantage to our US visitors – who may
otherwise not consider a Whistler vacation as they have the misperception
that snow conditions are poor throughout North America.

for a snow message inclusion in your email campaigns:
- While many resorts in North America are struggling
with well-below average snow coverage, Whistler has received 17 feet
of snowfall in the first two months of the winter season and boasts
8,171 skiable acres of terrain – more than any other destination in
the United States and Canada.
- Last year the resort received more than 52 feet of
snowfall, shattering the average annual accumulation of 34 feet, and
La Niña is helping pave the way for a repeat performance this year.
The first two months of Whistler Blackcomb’s 2011/ 2012 winter season
have been excellent, with 517 centimetres (203 inches) of total
snowfall.
- The New Year is off to an amazing start with 75 cm
of new snow in the alpine over the past 7 days and up to 35 cm in the
forecast for the next 5 days. The slopes of Whistler Blackcomb have
been endowed with a total of 520 cm of snow (17 feet!) since opening
