What should be a part of your Fall Home Check List? It’s predominantly taking important precautions before sub zero temperatures come into effect.

Lawn and Garden:

• Make sure your lawn is primed and in good enough shape to survive the winter.
• Trim flowers and buds in your garden and plant the bulbs you want to have ready to bloom in the spring.

Cottage Living:

• If your cottage or cabin isn’t winterized make sure to close it up nice and tight to avoid finding scary disasters when you reopen in the spring.
• If you’re not closing it, be sure to wrap and insulate waterlines to prevent them from freezing.

Home Improvement:

• Clean your eavestroughs and gutters so leaves, guck and gunk don’t freeze in there in the winter.
• Weather-strip and caulk windows and doors.

Decor and Design:

• Fall colours are rich earthy tones, find ways to inject some of these colours into your home. Perhaps with throws, which double up as a fun functional accessory to cuddle under?
• Deep purples and plums are back again this season. These would make great colours for rich duvet covers for your bedroom.
