Thanks to all of the riders that made our opening weekend a success. The weather was as good as it gets and the trails were in great shape for the amount of snow we had to move. My thanks go to Dave Kelly and his Trail Crew for their efforts.

Our objective this week is to get 100% of the bike park open for the long weekend. This includes a buff up of Dirt Merchant, Golden Triangle and Easy Does It. Zone 2 (past After Atlantis) is getting a major rebuilt due to the nasty wet spot that has developed there this weekend. That is going on right now and should be completed by Tuesday. This section has given us troubles in the past, but it should be super nice after this rebuild. Meanwhile the traffic is routed to Crabapple Hits which are in great shape. This hot weather is helping to get rid of the last of the nasty white stuff (actually, the skiing has been phenomenal) from Angry Pirate and Krank It Up. Heart of Darkness got a major surgical enhancement which includes a table, step down and a step up. We will be adding a short single track in that area in the near future.

I rode most of the trails this weekend and had a great time, after I wiped the rust of. A-Line threw me a couple of curved balls, but that was to be expected. Marty built up some sweet lips and after a couple of laps I was settling in. My favorites were the single tracks, being a bit of an old school dude. Schleyer, Joyride and Clown Shoes ruled. These trails always get my ticker going. If you are just coming up for the first time this year and want to start with something mellower, you have to try Devil's Club. It's a blue, flowy, not in your face single track that will have you grinning ear to ear.

I had my first smoothie of the year at the Garbanzo Bike and Bean and it was good. Crud to Mud is on for Sunday, so if you are racing, don't to forget to wax your skis or board and lube your chain.

See you up here!

As I said in my last report, bring your locks lock up your bikes to the ski racks whenever you have to be separated from your bike. I used this method and it works great. Hook your bike up by the seat and lock it up. Don’t give the thieves an easy target!
