Thursday, October 21, 2011 - The Winds of Change is hosting their 2nd Annual Wellness Gathering and Recognition Awards Luncheon at the Pemberton Community Centre from 11am – 7pm.
This event will celebrate the many organizations, volunteers, and leaders that are working to make all our communities healthier, supportive, and more vibrant.
The event will feature: keynote speaker- Kevin Brooks (www.kevinbrooks.ca), the recognition awards luncheon, wellness trade show, active living demonstrations, and workshops.
This year’s theme is geared towards “youth” (Grades 7-12) with many of the workshops and demonstrations geared towards “youth” and community members in general. The Committee has been working and communicating with the local schools; however, due to the job action unfortunately there is a stumbling block and we have limited participation from the classes. There are many great workshops and demonstrations throughout the afternoon and we are encouraging youth, families and the community to attend throughout the day. Please see the attached information and schedule of events for more details.
For the Youth – if they participate in 3 or more of the events (anything from the workshops, speaker, demos etc.), by having a passport stamped they can be entered to win great prize draws (youth fitness pass, The Mill gift certificate, Pemberton Supermarket coupons plus much more).
